BOS-3D-Printer (Big Open Source 3D Printer)

formerly known as BreBiPri = Bremen Big Printer.


Aim of this Open Source Project is to develop an Open Source Design for a BIG FDM-Printer.

The Idea is to have a scaleable design which allows building print volumes from 500mm to 2000mm in all directions (X, Y, Z).

Some key features:

  • Strong frame based on ITEM-Profiles
  • Usage of MakerslideMAX and OpenBild Profiles for linear movement
  • H-Kinematic
  • Dual-Extruder with E3D-V6 Volcano Hot-Ends and automatic Nozzle-Switch
  • Duet Wifi with Touchscreen recommended Board-Hardware
  • Arduino Mega with RAMPS 1.4 possible
  • NEMA 23 Stepper Motors

Used Software: Autodesk Fusion 360, SketchUp


Influencing other Projects

While working on this project, other Open Source Designs where influencing this developed design. Also sources of accessible ready to use 3D-Data were used.
